IM making YOU ask for a post about TOBI and BOBI ?!?!?!? About 2016 J-COLE and NEANDERTHAL brow ?!?!!?!? about TOBIAS and BOBAN ? BOBAN ?ĭon't be actin like I'M the one makin YOU want HORNY THOUGHTS about T O B I aND BOBI ?!?!?!? when YOU could've picked ANY of my SEXY SHIPS to ask REDACTED thoughts of ?!?!?!?!?!?!? LIKE PG/STEVEN OR DAME/LEBRON OR RUDY/BOOGIE OR JRUE/PJ OR. Honestly, some of y'all are beginning to just sound homophobic.īestie I CANNOT BELIEVE you’re making me ask this but… ? Tobi Bobi post ? I appreciate the yanquis making genderfluid camilo icon edits. I appreciate their faves being latin american like us. Yanquis are giving the characters of Encanto the exact same treatment they give any other characters from any other fandom and honestly that makes me, as a queer latin american, feel appreciated. Why automatically assume malice from the genderfluid camilo icon edit crowd? Why do you think it means they don't care?Īnd what does that say about us, the queer born-and-raised latin americans who want to jump into the fun and "make it gay" too? Do we get a special permit? Why? What's the difference between me and my buddy Stacy Æshleigh McWhite sharing the exact same headcanons? Do you assume I'll do it respectfully while others won't? What ever made you think they couldn't do it respectfully, too? That they aren't already respectful? I'm sure there are stupid idiots out there but it's a very cruel attitude to assume the worst out of everyone. Then i'll have to say that's a very bad faith, uncharitable assumption. Why waste time in a character you feel nothing about? If you think that, by headcanoning these characters as queer, they're gringowashing them in their heads.
Because, really, you don't "change" a character to make it more like you, if you don't already relate to them. It doesn't erase our customs or traditions, it just shows we can coexist peacefully without any of us having to change.
If anything, I think it's beautiful that any random white christian yanqui midwestern lesbian can look at a character like Isabela, who speaks spanish and is has very dark skin and comes from a different "foreign" country, and think "she's just like me!" I think it's beautiful that they can see past our differences and care about what makes us the same. Maybe it's not racist to headcanon a character as gay and some people are just overly defensive and feel the need to act homophobic for some reason.
Maybe it's ok to make a million genderfluid camilo icon edits. Maybe it doesn't take away from the actual film.
